In this game, players follow the adventures of a young woman who hastens to get on her bike to pedal in search of memories. She documents, photographs and records life around her – landscapes, sounds, music, art, people and architecture – before a cataclysm erases everything in its path.
On PlayStation 5, players will have to use the adaptive triggers to pedal. According to the press release, their resistance will change depending on the speed and inclination of the road. The texture of the ground can also be felt thanks to the haptic feedback with the Sony console’s DualSense gamepad.
An internal crisis
The Montreal studio was plunged into turmoil in 2021 following toxic climate allegations targeting one of the co-founding heads in particular. The production of the game Seasonannounced in December 2020 during the Game Awards, had been put on ice while it managed this internal crisis.
The game “Season” has a young black woman as its main character, which is rather rare in the video game industry.

Everything indicates that Scavengers has overcome it: in a communication published on its site in May, the company claims to have implemented several measures, including the addition of an ombudsman service, the establishment of a well-being and training for staff members.

The game Season will launch on January 31, 2023 on PC and PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles. A demo of the game is available on Steam until December 12.
